Our staff at San Diego Dental Studio is here to schedule appointments, help you complete any necessary paperwork, assist with your insurance and answer any of your billing questions.
New Patient Special
$249 New Patient Special: Includes x-rays, initial cleaning, comprehensive exam and photos. Does not include periodontal therapy (deep cleaning) if necessary due to periodontal disease. Some restrictions may apply. - Contact our office.
Dental Appointments
For the respect of all of our patients, we are able to see you by appointment only. If a same day appointment is needed, we urge you to call. We may be able to fit an appointment in or fill in a cancellation. We do not ask our patients to suffer, we will do the best we can to see you as quickly as possible.
We ask that you are on time for your appointments. Our offices makes every effort to stay on schedule for our patients, and we ask the same courtesy from our patients. We reserve the right to cancel appointments if you are more than ten minutes late.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please contact our office immediately. We understand that unexpected illnesses and family emergencies occur, but request a minimum of 48 hours notice to ensure that no missed appointment fees are assessed.
For your convenience, our office does have posted office hours, we want to help you schedule an appointment that meets both your needs and when our office staff is prepared for your visit.
Insurance & Patient Co-payments
Part of the services provided from our front staff is assistance with your medical insurance. Our team will help you determine your coverage and if possible, bill your insurance directly. In order for us to best assist you, we ask that you submit your dental and/or medical insurance information to us along with your new patient paperwork at least two business days prior to your scheduled appointment. This allows our staff the time to contact your insurance and have an understanding of your policy. Additionally, you are welcome to bring the dental benefit booklet your carrier may have provided, our business team will be happy to help you understand your policy.
If our dentists, Dr. Bierman, Dr. Ma or Dr. Summerhays determines treatment services are necessary, we are happy to provide you a printed detailed plan including the estimate for services along with what your insurance is willing to cover, and what, if any, expenses will be required of you.
Please be aware, our professional care is provided to you, our patient family, and not to the insurance company. The insurance company is responsible only to the patient as a benefit from the employer or individual plan purchase. You, the patient, is responsible to the doctor. If there is a dispute with the insurance company concerning payment, we will need to discuss that with you. We are happy to assist you in every way we can in the filing of your dental or medical claim. We will also assist in handling insurance questions on your behalf.

Should a second opinion be necessary, we are happy to assist you in scheduling it. We work in partnership with many dentists of various specializations who are happy to discuss the treatment diagnosed for you. It is important to us that our patients are committed fully to a recommended course of treatment, and we make every effort to provide all available information on the types of treatment completed at San Diego Dental Studio. |

All patients that are referred to our San Diego Dental Studio office from another practice, or self-referred, for a second opinion are required to undergo a complete examination by Dr. Bierman,Dr. Ma or Dr. Summerhays before providing their diagnosis opinion. Please ensure that all available x-rays and chart notes from your prior office have been transferred to us prior to the scheduled appointment for review. Please note that many offices require 7 to14 business days to transfer records. |
