Restorative Dental Procedures

 When damage is found with your teeth, due to decay, infection or trauma, we can help. Restoration is just that, restoring your teeth to appear as natural as possible. Dr. Bierman, Dr. Ma, and Dr. Summerhays can help restore normal function to your teeth.
The most common restorative treatment performed are dental fillings. Fillings are used to alleviate cavities in your tooth affected by decay. At San Diego Dental Studio, we use composite (tooth-colored) materials to "fill in" the surface of the tooth after all decay has been removed. Our dentists will discuss with you which material option is best for you based on its location in your mouth.
Root Canal Therapy, also called endodontic therapy, is a procedure to save a tooth structure that is badly decayed or infected. The procedure we perform is removing the nerve and pulp and then cleaning the inside of the tooth and seal it. Commonly a Crown or Cap will need to be placed proceeding this procedure because the tooth is now weakened.
Dental Bridges are a non-removable device that replaces missing teeth. This gives you the appearance and function of your natural teeth using a resin-bonded product.
We use dental Crowns to restore cracked, damaged and decayed teeth that are weakened. This crown, or cap, covers the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size allowing for normal function. And now with our new Cerec machine, you can have your crown designed and fitted in just one visit.
Sometimes our patients require full dentures. Dentures are a removable prosthesis, they are made of tooth colored plastic, molded in the shape of teeth, set in a pink gum-colored plastic base that rests on the remaining gum ridge once all of the teeth in the arch have been removed.
